Creating Everyday Milestones of Faith
This necklace is one of my favorite pieces to wear. It was a gift from my business mentor and a reminder that I am called to magnify God in all I do.
In the Old Testament, we often read that when God’s people journeyed through new seasons or experienced God’s provision, they built altars—physical markers to remember what God had done.
It’s easy to read those stories and think, “How could they forget?” But if we’re honest, we forget too. We get busy. Distracted. Focused on what’s urgent instead of what’s eternal.
In Genesis 9:12–15, God gives the rainbow as a sign of his covenant—not because he forgets, but because we need reminders.
We need milestones.
Tangible reminders that:
- God has called us.
- He’s walking with us.
- He’s done great things.
- He’s prepared good works for us to do.
For me, this necklace is one of those reminders. It helps me remember not just who God is—but who I am in him. And it keeps my business anchored in the deeper why behind the work: to serve others and make an impact for his glory.
I may never build an altar in the backyard, but there’s a shaded table in the front yard where I often sit with my Bible, a journal, and a cup of coffee. I read. I pray. I write. And over time, that ordinary table has become a sacred space—a personal milestone where I remember how God has met me.
Maybe you have a place like that. Or a memento. Or a verse scribbled on a sticky note.
Whatever it looks like, I hope you’re building your own milestones—reminders of what God has done, and what he’s still doing.
